The various adsorption performance indicators of activated carbon provided by merchants are important references for understanding the classification of activated carbon. The adsorption capacity of activated carbon needs to be considered from three aspects, namely, the adsorption capacity for liquid substances, the adsorption capacity for gases, and the decolorization capacity. The higher the value of these three indicators, the stronger the performance of activated carbon, and correspondingly, the higher the price.

Secondly, the density and the number of pores are also important criteria for the classification of activated carbon. At the same volume, the more pores of activated carbon, the stronger the adsorption capacity for various substances. At the same time, the more pores, the looser the texture of activated carbon, and the smaller the density. From this point of view, under the same weight, the larger the volume of activated carbon, the higher the grade is.

When the activated carbon is put into water, there will be bubble reaction. If this reaction is stronger, the performance of the activated carbon will be higher.

Can activated carbon be recycled?

After the activated carbon is used up, the adsorbed substances can be removed by physical or chemical means to restore its performance. There are many methods for regeneration of activated carbon, and each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. According to different situations, the applicable regeneration methods are also different.
